Born with the most unfortunate pairing of names in cinema history (just google David+Keith+Lynch and you'll see why...), Keith and David's journey in the world of film was never going to be easy...
After graduating film school they stood staring gormlessly at the giant apple that is the film industry, wondering how they could possibly ever get a bite on it. Their first nibble...? Music videos. Initially with unsigned UK acts but quickly working their way up to established international bands such as Alkaline Trio, Guttermouth and 3 Colours Red.
But making music videos was for them like when Obi-Wan shows Luke that he can see things even with his visor down – awesome, but just the beginning. Feature film on the other hand, that is straight up Yoda, Dagobah, raising god damn X-Wings out of the swamp... yeah, that. A long journey still ahead for them, there was...
In 2008 they (and their team) were the winners of The Big Pitch 2008 - a year long script development scheme - which lead to their feature script, Different Shades of Graham, being optioned by Ipso Facto Films.
In 2010, the writer-directors won the Raindance Live Ammunition Pitching Competition at the Cannes Film Festival with the pitch for their screenplay, Guy Fawkes.

In 2012, they won the Film4 Scenestealers Competition with their Sci-Fi spin on a classic scene from Shane Meadow's This is England. The main prize being a £5k short film development deal with Film4. As a result of this they have developed a short film script Joyride with BAFTA winning Producer Diarmid Scrimshaw (Tyrannosaur).
As writers, their action-comedy feature script Sitting Ducks was selected by the BBC Writers’ Room Spring 2012 intake.
In 2013, their black comedy short film script Old Habits was selected for the Collabor8te £10k short film fund. A Black Comedy starring David Warner (Titanic, Time Bandits, Tron) and Ronald Pickup (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Prince of Persia). They shot in October and completed post production in December 2013. Old Habits premiered at LA Shorts Fest '14.
The brothers were Screen International Stars of Tomorrow 2013.
Residual, a complex sci-fi action thriller, will be Keith & David's feature debut and they hope to deliver on their focused ambition of making challenging and innovative films that appeal to mainstream audiences and critics alike. This has been extensively developed with Producer Ed Barratt (The Rise).
The script made the semi-finals of the Academy's Nicholl Fellowship, the finals of the Screencraft Sci-Fi Competition and the quarterfinals of the Tracking Board's Launch Pad competition.
In 2015, backed by Creative England, they made a short film version of Residual called Trial to help with financing of the feature, which will be shot in 2017. Trial was launched online in 2016 via Short of the Week and soon after was selected Vimeo Staff Picks. It had its festival premiere at Encounters in September 2016.
The brothers were listed on the Tracking Board's Young and Hungry List for 2016, noted as one of the top 100 new writers in Hollywood.
The Brothers Lynch aspire to create stories that are challenging but accessible for their audience.
